Virtual Cocktail Hour: Stimulus Edition

Pull up a seat to our virtual bar!

For Vol. 2 of our weekly happy hour, we unpacked the $2 trillion stimulus package that was approved by President Trump on Friday. Is it enough? Where do we get the money to pay for it? And do economists wear pants?

To answer these questions — and more — we Zoomed in Dr. Betsey Stevenson from the University of Michigan. Dr. Stevenson was formerly the chief economist for the U.S. Labor Department and sat on the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.

PLUS: Marlowe Johnson, beverage director at Flowers of Vietnam in Detroit, taught us how to make a Flowers Part & Parcel, one of the restaurant’s most popular drinks, AND how to get your cocktail shaker unstuck.

Check out his recipe and other relevant links below!

(P.S. This Zoom recording was done on March 27, 2020. We’re still learning how to do this. Lesson #1: I talk too much. The conversation with Dr. Stevenson starts at minute 16; the cocktail lesson begins at minute 3. Sorry about that. — Amy)
